NorWood Consultants were contracted to carry out special investigations in this Grade II listed property.  It is located close to the House of Parliament and was undergoing a major refurbishment. The client had expressed a desire to retain the existing under-floor heating system.

Challenges & Benefits

There were no existing drawings and no information existed to demonstrate that the system was operational or able to provide sufficient spatial comfort.

NorWood Consultants were commissioned to undertake  a detailed Infra-Red based survey, the results of which revealed both the extent of and capacities of the system.

The thermal images showed the areas where the system was damaged and where issues needed to be addressed.

With this crucial information NorWood’s were able to advise the client of the system performance and capacities. As a result of the above, the client was saved considerable disruption and cost as the system was retained rather than being either completely removed or partially altered.
